1) 40th Summit of Group of Seven (G7) group of countries concluded on 5 June 2014. This 2-day summit was held at which city? – Brussels, Belgium (G7 was earlier known as G8 but after Russia being expelled from the group, the group is again known as G7. G7 is the group of seven major world powers (largest economies of the world) and includes Germany, France, the United Kingdom, Italy, Japan, the United States, and Canada. Russia was expelled from its earlier incarnation called G8 after its invasion of Crimea during March 2014. G8’s summit for 2014 was proposed to be held at Sochi (Russia) but it was suspended after Russia was expelled as a member of the group. The summit was thus shifted to Brussels)
